Public holidays at ahead 🗓️

At ahead, we observe the public holidays based on Hamburg's state calendar for employees based in Hamburg and respective state calendars for remote employees. These holidays are already marked in your Personio calendar, so you don’t need to worry about adding them yourself. Here's the list of holidays that all employees are entitled to.

In addition to the public holidays, ahead also grants two special holidays to all employees to make the holiday season even more enjoyable:

• Christmas Eve (24th December)

These days are already added to your Personio calendar, so you don’t need to request them separately. We believe in giving everyone the chance to fully relax and celebrate the festive season with loved ones, so enjoy the extra time off! 🎄🎉

Paid Vacation Days & Best Practices ☝🏼

Apart from public holidays and ahead holidays, every employee is entitled to 25 additional paid vacation days. To ensure smooth planning, please follow these best practices when applying for vacation days in Personio:

• Plan in Advance: Submit your vacation request at least two weeks in advance to allow time for approval and to help the team manage workloads during your absence.
• Check the Calendar: Make sure to review the Personio calendar for any upcoming public holidays or ahead holidays that may overlap with your planned vacation. These are already accounted for and will not be deducted from your paid vacation days.
• Team Coordination: Before submitting your request, check with your team or manager to ensure smooth coverage during your time off.
• Submit Your Request: Use Personio to apply for your vacation. Weekends and public holidays are automatically excluded from your vacation count. </aside>
