Download Chrome

Download Google Chrome here and login with your Google User Account.

From now on use Google Chrome as your standard browser logged in with your google account.

Open “System settings” → “Desktop and Dock” → “Default web browser” → select Chrome

Install it on your mac. Login with your work google account. Inside the installation / setup process, please make sure to not upload any private folders, always SKIP these steps!!!

Download and set up G-Apps

When using Google Chrome you can also save your important web-apps as local desktop apps. This might help you to switch between windows + not having everything in your browser.

Follow the steps to get download Apps locally on your desktop:

  1. Open your desired Google App in Google Chrome:

    App url
    Calendar https://calendar.google.com/calendar
    Gmail https://mail.google.com/mail
    Sheets https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets
    Docs https://docs.google.com/document
  2. Now click on the 3 dots o the upper right next to your account icon → click on “Cast, save and share” → click on “install page as app” to download the app.

  3. When downloaded, the app will open automatically → right click on app → “options” → “keep in dock”

  4. Repeat this process for all apps you want to use locally on your desktop.
